Elyse is an English student at the University of Adelaide, a freelance editor and writer. Born and raised in Adelaide, she soon got to know all the best places to shop, eat, and have fun in the surrounding countryside. Being a uni student for the last five years, she learnt to do it with very little money and a bit of ingenuity.
Elyse heard about the Insider Guides from friends and on the radio, before trying them out for herself. The Insider had many places that even she didn’t know about! After meeting with the lovely editors, she embarked on a journey to write for them one year. The next year she found herself doing content coordination for them and having fun (dancing included!) with the team.

For Elyse, the Insider Guides are her way of helping others to learn more about Adelaide and grow to love it (and Australia) as much as she has. She wants everyone to enjoy their time in her home city and make it feel like their home as well. “I want everyone to see that Adelaide is more than a sleepy city. It has so many cool and quirky places to see and things to do, it’s hard not to love it here. That’s what I want to put into the Insider Guides – that ability to find out about the real places people around here love, not just the usual sights.”
