Contributing to The Insider
The Insider is not only a guide for students, it’s a guide produced by students. We would like to give all of those international and domestic students out there a chance to help put their own insight into the guide.
If you think you have skills in journalism, photography or just simply want to let other students know about something you feel is important, let us know. The Insider team is looking for articles and photographs to put in the 2010 edition for both Melbourne and Adelaide. So get your inside word to us as soon as you can to ensure your thoughts and experiences can be passed on to others.
You have the chance to have your work published in a guide with a print run of over 20 000 and even put into the national library! This is a great opportunity for both employment portfolios and bragging rights. We will provide all contributors with a certificate of appreciation for you to put in your resume or to pin up on your wall.

Hints for writing in the Insider
The guide aims to help new students socially integrate into their new cities. Keep in mind that international students are not always as confident with English as you may be. Simplicity is important in getting the message across.
Personal insight is also crucial. However, we want articles to be relevant, engaging and factual. When writing articles, consider what it is that you would need to know when coming to a new city (ie what barriers you faced and how you got over them).
Hot Spot Survey
The Insider has an online survey circulating where you can let us know about your favourite Adelaide and Melbourne hot spots. If you have 2 minutes of spare time it would be great if you could jump on and give it a shot. We would really appreciate it.
